Eating & Drinking in France: Risotto

Right around lunchtime Jason and I got a craving for risotto – so we started plotting our next meal… (It seems like this trip is going to revolve around food and wine… and I am 100% okay with that.) So we headed out to the local shops to find what we needed for our meal and then sat down to enjoy it!

The Meal: Smoked sausage risotto

Risotto with: white wine, beef broth, smoked sausage, mushrooms, fresh herbs, leeks

The Wine: Brut Rose from Mas de la Dame

For the 8 euros we spent on this sparkling wine it was worth it. High acidity and dry it managed to cut through the fat from the sausage. Probably not the best pairing we’ve had so far but it was still a nice refreshing wine to end the day on.
