Eating & Drinking in France: Day 1

As we make my way through the South of France for the next week, I figured this would be as good of place as any to document our culinary & wine adventures. Our goal is to cook-in most dinners, with my brother Jason acting as chef, and venture out into smaller villages for lunch.

Dinner 1:
At ‘home’ in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (March 25, 2010)

The Meal: ‘Pasta a la Jason’
Dinner night 1: Pasta a la Jason
Fresh pasta cooked and served with: lobster tail, olive oil, zucchini, fresh herbs, white wine, garlic and tomatoes

The Wine: Beaumes de Venise
Wine Night 1: Cotes de Rhone
A tasty red wine from Côtes du Rhône that had plenty of pepper on the palate. I’m going to go out on a limb here and make a guess that this wine had a higher percentage of Syrah than Grenache, but the berry/fruit from the Genache still let itself be heard.
